Lil Durk, the chart-topping Chicago rapper, is reportedly preparing to plead not guilty to serious federal charges in his recent high-profile arrest, according to insiders.

The rapper, known for his deep ties to Chicago’s music scene and his national acclaim, was arrested on October 24 in Broward County, Florida, with authorities claiming he had involvement in a murder-for-hire plot targeting another well-known rapper.

Sources close to the Kanye West collaborator have shared that the musician is determined to fight the charges, with his legal team assembling to mount a robust defense.

Currently detained at the Federal Detention Center in Miami, Lil Durk is reportedly in ‘great spirits’ despite the circumstances.

He displays a calm demeanor, which those close to him describe as ‘super charming’ and ‘agreeable’. His only complaint thus far has been with the facility’s food, demonstrating a surprising resilience amid the gravity of the situation.

The arrest follows an intricate investigation that allegedly linked Durk and members of his Only the Family (OTF) collective to a murder plot dating back to 2022.

Authorities have accused Durk and his associates of orchestrating an attempt on the life of Quando Rondo, a rapper who has been publicly connected to the tragic death of Durk’s close friend and collaborator, King Von.

Federal agents also arrested five others linked to OTF in the Chicago area on the morning of Durk’s detention, following coordinated search warrants.

FBI Special Agent Sarah Corcoran filed an affidavit as part of the criminal complaint against the rapper, indicating that Durk’s travel plans were closely scrutinized in the days before his arrest.

According to the document, Durk had allegedly booked multiple international flights, including one-way tickets from Miami to Dubai and Fort Lauderdale to Switzerland, fueling speculation of a possible escape plan.

However, Durk did not board these flights and was apprehended near Miami airport just before he reportedly planned to depart on a private flight to Italy.

Five of Durk’s associates, all said to be members of OTF, now face charges linked to the murder of Saviay’a ‘Lul Pab’ Robinson, cousin of Quando Rondo.

The indictment, recently unsealed in California, accuses the group of murder for hire and conspiracy, alleging they sought to target Rondo in Los Angeles but mistakenly took Robinson’s life.
