Wiz Khalifa is proud of his longtime friend and collaborator Ty Dolla $ign, who has reached new heights with his latest album, Vultures 1.

The project, which was produced by Kanye West and features guest appearances from Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Travis Scott, and more, debuted at the top spot of the Billboard 200 chart this week, marking Ty’s first No. 1 album of his career.

Wiz, who signed Ty to his Taylor Gang Entertainment label in 2011, took to Twitter on Sunday (February 18) to express his excitement and support for his comrade. “I’m super hype for Ty,” he wrote. “Him and Ye’s album slaps uncontrollably.” Wiz also shared a screenshot of the Billboard article announcing the news, along with a fire emoji.

Ty and Wiz have a long history of working together, dating back to their 2013 hit “Or Nah”, which also featured The Weeknd. They have since collaborated on numerous songs, such as “Something New”, “Hopeless Romantic”, and “Speed Me Up”. They also released a joint EP titled Talk About It in the Morning in 2015.

Ty has been praised for his versatility and creativity as a singer, songwriter, and producer, working with artists from various genres and styles. He has earned four Grammy nominations, including Best Rap/Sung Performance for “Psycho” with Post Malone in 2019. His previous albums, Free TC (2015), Beach House 3 (2017), and Featuring Ty Dolla $ign (2020), all reached the top 20 of the Billboard 200 chart.

Vultures 1, which was released on February 11, 2024, is Ty’s fifth studio album and his first collaborative project with Kanye West. The album has received critical acclaim for its experimental and eclectic sound, blending elements of hip-hop, R&B, gospel, rock, and electronic music.
