In a recent episode of CNN’s Take a Ride with Me, Ghanaian musician, Wendy Shay discussed her goal of performing songs with a spiritual impact.
Shay, born on February 20, 1996, was a midwife and nurse in the past, and with the release of her first single, Uber Driver, in 2018, she became well-known in Ghana’s music industry.
Her distinctive sound, which combines elements of hip-hop, highlife, and Afrobeats, has brought her some popularity.
Wendy Shay has performed at a number of events, such as the RTP Awards Africa 2018, the BF Suma Ghana Connect 18 concert, and the Miss Ghana 2018 Finals.
She also had a performance at Ghana’s Afronation Music Festival in December 2019. In addition, Shay represents the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in Ghana as a brand ambassador.
Wendy has also won other awards, including Best New Artiste of the Year at the Ghana-Naija Showbiz Awards.
In addition to being a singer and songwriter, Wendy Shay is a musical trailblazer and one of the most streamed female Ghanaian musicians on Boomplay.
Shay was interviewed by Larry Madowo in Accra for CNN’s Glo-sponsored CNN African Voices Playmaker program.
They talked about her accomplishments and how the singer continues to use her charitable activities and music to “nurse” the planet back to health.
In the 30-minute magazine show, Shay wowed the audience with her tale of rising to the pinnacle of her profession and the influence she had on the program through her charitable social activities.
