For the past two weeks, Pastor Henderson and his wife Shaunie O’Neal have been in the news due to Shaunie’s recently released memoir and Pastor Henderson dividing social media following the demotion of a church member.

A fresh video clip from a recent sermon has started to make rounds on Instagram, bringing up the founder of Lighthouse Church once more in the conversation.

In the video, Pastor Henderson is seen singing I Lift My Hands, raising his hands in celebration, and speaking in tongues.

Just then, a female choir member found herself at the front of the stage and could be heard screaming repeatedly throughout the usually silent passage.

The pastor approached her at one point and whispered, “Shh, hey, stop it.” He snapped his finger at her, saying, “Hush, hush.”

“Silence in the name of Jesus,” Henderson said as he walked back to the middle of the platform.

The woman made no additional audible noise, even though it seemed she was still overtaken by emotion.

Due to Pastor Henderson’s conduct, opinions on the internet have been divided. Here are a few remarks:

Some internet users claiming to be churchgoers revealed that they do the same act every week.

Many people concluded that she was not being moved by the Lord’s spirit to lose herself in the present since she had allegedly grown noticeably louder at every service.

“One of her critics wrote, “If she could cut it off so quickly, it wasn’t necessary in the first place.”

“Some people play in churches with all the theatrics. He’s like, enough is enough,” was the subject of a second comment.

However, not everyone agreed with Henderson’s strategy for calming her down. One person’s wrote, “He operates in the spirit of self.”

Another suggestion was that he ought to have prayed for her instead of snapping his finger.

“Now hold on! This explains why people stay at home. How are you going to silence her in Jesus’ name when the Holy Spirit may have been inside her?” was one of the reactions to the incident.

Another user wrote, “The worship team needs to read the room. The pastor got something God put on his heart to say, and folks were too busy catching the spirit to catch the message.”

Pastor Henderson once revealed that he was called to the ministry for the first time at age five, and in 2003, at the age of 21, he started his first church, Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist, while attending college full-time and later started The Lighthouse Church in 2009; however, since then, it has expanded to five locations around the state of Texas.
