Kanye West has shown support for Drake in his ongoing legal fight with Universal Music Group, calling the lawsuit a significant moment for the music industry and a win for artistes.

On April 17, West shared a video on social media, announcing that he was fully backing Drake in the dispute with the major label.

Despite their past issues, West praised Drake’s decision to challenge Universal Music Group, stating that the case represents a victory for all artists, not just Drake.

He emphasized that the outcome of the lawsuit, which is still pending, could mark a pivotal change in the music world.

West, who has had a strained relationship with Drake over the years, said he would no longer engage in negative public comments about him.

He also expressed support for other top artists like Kendrick Lamar, urging them to unite in opposition to powerful music companies. West believes the focus should be on challenging the system rather than continuing conflicts between musicians.

In his video, West also touched on high-profile events such as the Super Bowl and the Grammys, indicating that the legal battle was much more important than those moments.

He framed it as an opportunity for artists to push back against the influence of major labels and gain more control over their careers.

Along with the video, West shared a link to Drake’s amended lawsuit and called it an important moment in music history. He said he felt strongly about supporting Drake in this case and encouraged fans to take the matter seriously.

West’s public backing of Drake comes after he seemingly insulted the rapper in a track from his upcoming album, WW3.
