Music artiste, Cardi B, delivered a fiery and uplifting speech after joining Vice President Kamala Harris at the “When We Vote, We Win” rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Reflecting on her journey, Cardi B explained to the crowd that she’s been underestimated throughout her career, similar to Harris’ career path from attorney general to vice president of the United States. “Just like Kamala Harris, I have been the underdog. I’ve been underestimated.

My success has been belittled and discredited,” she said. Cardi B continued to explain how women “have to work 10 times harder, perform 10 times better,” and people still question their success.

Cardi did imply that she didn’t plan to vote this year, criticizing the Biden administration for funding multiple conflicts. “I did not have any faith in any candidate until [Harris] joined the race and said the things I wanted to hear,” Cardi B explained.

“Things I wanted to see next in this country. I believe in every word that comes out of her mouth; she’s passionate, she’s compassionate, she shows empathy, and most of all, she is not delusional.”

The musician also addressed former President in her speech, and touched on his policies regarding women’s reproductive rights: “If your definition of protection is making sure our daughters have fewer rights than their mothers, then I don’t want it.” Her speech followed performances by GloRilla, MC Lyte, the Isley Brothers, Flo Milli, and DJ Gemini Gilly.
