It is undeniably Usher season given how well he is doing on all fronts and the latest development posits that the Yeah! star has secured a significant victory, as evidenced by his two residencies in Las Vegas that have brought in over $100 million.
My Way: The Vegas Residency with Usher was one of the most sought-after shows in 2022–2023. His 100th and last sold-out show took place in December 2023, according to Rolling Stone.
It was previously reported by AFROTECH that in 2021, Usher sold out 18 of his 20 shows during his first Vegas residency, Usher: The Las Vegas Residency, as he performed his catalog of hits at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum before heading to Park MGM’s Dolby Live.
The revenue from each of Usher’s residency performances, according to a subsequent report, matched the buzz that the artiste generated on social media and elsewhere.
Billboard Boxscore reports that Usher’s two residencies brought in over $100 million in revenue. His first residency brought in $18.8 million from the sale of 84,000 tickets; by contrast, My Way: The Vegas Residency brought in $95.9 million from the sale of 394,000 tickets, for a combined total of $114.6 million.
The average revenue for each of the 100 residency shows was $1.198 million. Additionally, the report states that the total revenue made exceeded all of the proceeds from his prior tours combined.
Usher has no intention of slowing down just yet, despite having just finished a two-and-a-half-year tenure in Las Vegas.
Just days after performing at the Super Bowl halftime show, the U Got It Bad singer revealed he would be embarking on a 2024 tour in support of his ninth studio album, Coming Home.
According to Billboard, the Confessions crooner’s Usher: Past, Present, and Future tour is his first solo headline tour in ten years.
The tour will begin in Washington, D.C., on August 20 and stop 24 times throughout North America. On October 17 and 18, Usher is scheduled to perform in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.
