Tyga’s 2018 summer anthem Taste, featuring Offset, has officially reached a monumental achievement, earning a coveted diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Announced on Tuesday, September 24, 2025, the certification marks the first time in the rapper’s career that one of his tracks has achieved this prestigious status.

Diamond certification is awarded to songs that have moved 10 million units, a significant benchmark in the music industry. The RIAA defines one song unit as either a digital sale or the equivalent of 150 on-demand streams, reflecting the dominance of streaming platforms in today’s music landscape.

Taste was released as the lead single from Tyga 2019 album Legendary, under Last Kings Music and EMPIRE. Produced by D.A. Got That Dope, the track quickly became a cultural hit, peaking at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and staying on the charts for several weeks. It also topped the Rhythmic Airplay chart for four weeks, proving its wide appeal. This success earned Tyga his third top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, alongside previous chart-toppers like ‘Loyal’ with Chris Brown in 2014 and ‘Rack City’ in 2012.

The milestone also spotlights Offset, who was featured on the track. The Migos member expressed his excitement on social media, calling it a major moment in his career. The song’s success underscores the strong collaboration between the two artists and how their combined star power helped push ‘Taste’ to massive popularity.

Tyga, currently supporting Nicki Minaj on the second leg of her Pink Friday 2 world tour, celebrated the achievement with a video on social media showing him receiving his RIAA diamond plaque.
