Ahead of the release of Netflix’s latest film, The Six Triple Eight, some top cast and crew members showed up in style at the grand premiere, which took place on Thursday, December 4, at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, California.

The guests included Tina Knowles, Big Sean, George Lucas, Vivica A. Fox, Nick Barrotta, Brittany O’Grady, Swizz Beatz, Loni Love, and others, who turned up in their best outfits for the occasion.

The production by Tyler Perry is based on the 2019 WWII History magazine article, Fighting a Two-Front War, by Kevin M. Hymel, which tells the story of the heroic 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion—the only all-Black, all-female Women’s Army Corps unit deployed overseas during World War II.

According to sources, The Six Triple Eight will be available in selected cinemas on Friday, December 6, and later on Netflix on December 20, 2024.

Producers say it was staged to reflect the battalion’s “extraordinary mission” of clearing a massive three-year backlog of mail for American troops in just 90 days.

Kerry Washington leads the cast as “Captain Charity Adams.” Other supporting actresses include Ebony Obsidian, Milauna Jackson, Oprah Winfrey, Susan Sarandon, and Dean Norris.

The Six Triple Eight aims to highlight the untold contributions of the trailblazing women and offers a glimpse into the women’s determination and resilience amidst the harsh realities of war and discrimination.

Tyler Perry’s inspiration for the film is said to have emerged from a meeting with Lena Derriecott King, one of the last surviving members of the all-female Army Squad called the “6888th.”

His latest project, Beauty In Black, went live on October 24 and attracted top stars to the grand premiere held at the Atlanta iPic Theater.
