Aligned with the title of her upcoming album, singer Tems will embark on her first world tour, dubbed Born in the Wild across five continents this year.
The European leg of the tour is scheduled to begin on June 12, 2024, in London and will later move through North America, Asia, Africa, and Australia.
Tems announced the trip on Friday, May 10, 2024, asking fans to get tickets ahead of time. The Me and You composer, recently released the single Love Me Jeje off the Born in the Wild album, whose official release date has been rescheduled to June 7, 2024.
Though listeners are yet to hear the full complement of the album, her followers are excited about the scheduled world tour. Tems’ trendy Love Me Jeje single ranked No. 2 on the Afrobeats Chart UK as of May 6, 2024.
Last week, the exciting performer explained the deeper meaning of the Born In The Wild album, which she said was about her experiences and the “road rage” in the music industry.
“I named this [project] Born In The Wild because I really want to share my journey, my story, and my life after being seen. There was lot of hurdles I had to cross and I just wanted to give a perspective of what it is like to come from where I am from.
“The reason why it is ‘wild’ for me is that the culture is really survival of the fittest culture. It’s very fast…if you don’t work hard, you gonna drown and everybody is fighting all the time…the road rage is crazy,” she stated and described the music industry as “survival of the fittest.”
Amid the challenges, the record producer said she did her “best to remain true and pure” to herself over the years.
The video for the single Love Me Jeje accumulated some appreciable views on YouTube since it premiered.
It will be recalled that she announced Born in the Wild on April 15, a day after her Coachella Music Festival performance.
The songwriter teased the new album with a one-minute video that she uploaded to her social media handle. The project was originally scheduled to be released this month but it is unclear why the singer has decided to push the date forward.
