These lists also have names of some Afrobeats, Amapiano, and Afropop artists such as Tyla, Ayra Starr, Tems, and Rema.
These names were captured on the 2024 Rolling Stone’s best 100 albums.
The singers’s names were made on the list of outstanding albums that have enjoyed global success in the year.
Securing the 11th spot in the list is Nigeria’s Rema.
Rolling Stone described Rema’s second studio album, ‘Heis, as a “unique, buzzy, and visceral” project.
Securing the 37th spot is Tem’s album, ‘Born in the Wild.
The project is said to have the ability to make music lovers have a “physical and emotional listening experience.”
Ayra Starr’s second album, ‘The Year I Turned 21, also ranked 53rd on the list.
The project showcases the singer’s musical maturity and passion.
The list also has South Africa’s musical sensation Tyla, and her self-titled album made it to the 6th spot of the list.
The project has a blend of Amapiano, Afrobeats, R&B, and Pop, which highlight and reinforce her versatility and debunk the rumors of her being a one-hit-wonder.
This milestone also comes as Tyla’s album has a historic 8 nominations at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards.
