SZA has ended swirling rumors that Frank Ocean was set to appear on her latest project, Lana, the deluxe edition of her album SOS.

The speculation, which spread rapidly on social media, claimed Ocean’s contribution was removed just before the album’s release.

The rumor originated from an X (formerly Twitter) account named @blondedhomer, which posted an unfounded claim that Ocean had recorded a verse for the project, but it was allegedly cut at the last moment. The claim gained traction among fans, sparking heated discussions online.

SZA, however, swiftly addressed the situation, refuting the claims and calling out the account for fabricating the story. She emphasized that Ocean’s involvement with her album was entirely false, shutting down any further speculation.

Fans have long been intrigued by the connection between SZA and Frank Ocean, with the two artists often seen as pioneers in the R&B space. SZA has openly credited Ocean as one of her creative inspirations, admiring his ability to channel raw emotion through his music. Fans have hoped for a collaboration between the two for years, but nothing has happened.

In 2021, many fans called for Ocean to appear on a remix of SZA’s single Good Times, a collaboration that never came to fruition. While SZA expressed interest in contacting him, no such remix surfaced. This latest rumor only fueled those lingering hopes, though SZA’s clarification has set the record straight.

Ocean, known for his elusive nature, has not released a full-length project since his critically acclaimed 2016 album Blonde. While fans remain eager for new music, his recent years have been focused on other ventures, including fashion projects and reportedly directing a film.
