In the past few years, there has been a rise in commercials that grab the attention of millions while driving home its marketing point.

However, nothing compares to a fantastic Super Bowl commercial, and the ones that aired this year may be the best group to date—far superior to the ones we’ve been seeing for the past few years.

This year saw a memorable game as the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25–22 in overtime. There was also plenty to enjoy for fans who tuned in to watch the Super Bowl 2024 commercials or the halftime show.

A combination of emotional gut punches and celebrity spokespeople characterized the best Super Bowl commercials of 2024. Additionally, Afrobeats+ has compiled in no particular order our top 10 Super Bowl commercials.

NFL: “Born to Play”

The NFL aired its big game commercial in the prime time slot right after Usher’s performance during the Super Bowl halftime show, following a recent tradition. The commercial, which showed Saquon Barkley, Justin Jefferson, and Cameron Jordan jogging through an open market in Accra, Ghana, highlighted the NFL’s efforts to expand football into foreign markets.

Dunkin’: “The DunKings”

The USA Today readers ranked Dunkin’s Super Bowl commercial as the second-best, despite an unwavering belief that it is the best of the 2024 Super Bowl. The commercial follows Affleck’s journey to become a household name with his supergroup, “The DunKings,” which also features Matt Damon and Tom Brady..

Dove: “Hard Knocks”

To the tune of It’s a Hard Knock Life, Dove’s 2024 Super Bowl commercial opened whimsically, showcasing young girls getting into accidents while playing sports. The advertisement, however, abruptly cut to a girl glancing at herself in the mirror. The takeaway is that it’s low body confidence, not mishaps, that cause girls to give up sports.

Uber Eats: “Worth Remembering”

Jennifer Aniston responds to a person who says they didn’t realize a large range of products could be ordered through Uber Eats by saying, “You have to forget something in order to remember something.” This causes a wave of forgetting to occur: Victoria Beckham and David Schwimmer fail to remember that she was Posh Spice, and Jennifer Aniston forgets that she co-starred in Friends with Schwimmer.

Kia: “Perfect 10”

With its Super Bowl 2024 commercial, KIA aimed for emotional resonance by showcasing how its EV9 electric car keeps a young figure skater and her grandfather in touch.

State Farm: “Like a Good Neighbaaa”

In homage to an action movie trailer, State Farm’s Super Bowl 2024 commercial teased Arnold Schwarzenegger as the lead character in Agent State Farm. Afrnold’s difficulty pronouncing his R’s causes him to ruin take after take of reading the insurance company’s “Like a good neighbor” slogan—a problem that many Bostonians are familiar with. Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito, his co-star in Twins, were reunited in the commercial as well.

Doritos Dinamita: “Dina & Mita”

Starring in spooky films such as Scream VI and Wednesday, Jenna Ortega played a pivotal role in Doritos’s terrifying Super Bowl 2024 commercial, which also featured Danny Ramirez from Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Verizon: “Can’t Be Broken”

Usher gave a phenomenal halftime show performance, and no one was going to top it. However, Beyoncé came very close in her Verizon commercial, where she and Tony Hale from Arrested Development revealed two new songs and announced a new country album.

Budweiser: “Old School Delivery”

For its 2024 Super Bowl commercial, Budweiser opted for a more traditional approach, reintroducing its recognizable Clydesdales and teaming them up with a Labrador Retriever.

BMW: “Talkin’ Like Walken”

Automaker BMW returned for the big game after a long break, showcasing actor Christopher Walken and several imitators of his signature speech pattern in a Super Bowl 2024 commercial.
