Death Row Records co-founder Suge Knight has called out several major figures in the hip-hop world for their silence regarding the recent sex trafficking allegations against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
Speaking to Chris Cuomo on NewsNation, Knight expressed frustration that high-profile artists such as Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and others have yet to publicly address the serious accusations facing the Bad Boy Records mogul.
During the interview, Knight claimed that various individuals in the music industry have long been aware of Diddy’s alleged misconduct, but have chosen to remain quiet. He directly called out several artists by name, stating, ‘Nobody is stepping up,’ about the likes of T.I., Rick Ross, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, The Game, and Dr. Dre. These figures have either worked with Diddy or been seen with him at social events like the Roc Nation brunch or Diddy’s famous parties.
Knight’s comments come when Diddy’s legal troubles are rapidly escalating. Recently arrested on charges of sex trafficking, the music executive has denied all allegations but remains incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, an institution often referred to as ‘Hell on Earth.’ His bail requests have been denied twice, and he is now being held in a Special Housing Unit awaiting trial.
Knight didn’t stop at criticizing those in the industry for their silence. He also voiced skepticism over the case, suggesting that Diddy’s powerful connections might influence the outcome. Knight alleged that Diddy has long had ties with the FBI, claiming that one of Diddy’s early business partners, who allegedly helped start Bad Boy Records with drug money, was pardoned from prison by President Obama. Knight warned not to count Diddy out just yet, hinting that the music mogul might have a few tricks up his sleeve.
Knight also addressed the concerns over Diddy’s well-being. Recently placed on suicide watch, Diddy’s mental state has been the subject of much speculation. However, Knight downplayed the likelihood of Diddy becoming suicidal, pointing out the grim consequences of such a designation, which would leave him stripped of basic comforts in jail.
