Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg appears to have found a new profession and has officially become a sportsman.
Snoop took part in the 200m trial run in Oregon over the weekend, having signed up to serve as an NBC guest commentator at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
With his American flag-themed leggings and a Team USA jersey commemorating the late Kobe Bryant, the Doggfather laced up his Nike sneakers for Sunday’s race against Wallace Spearmon and Ato Boldon.
Sadly, Snoop’s rivals ultimately left him behind as he concluded the race in a far-off third place with a timing of 34.44 seconds. The 2020 Olympic gold medallist, by contrast, ran a time of 19.62 seconds.
“34.44 for a 52-year-old? Ain’t bad,” Snoop Dogg said while clapping in excitement when he saw his time.
Snoop contributed his funny commentary to the steeplechase run as part of the show once he caught his breath.
“Oh he’s jumping on top of the hurdle. You can do that?! That was a cold trick right there. I like that one. Went off the tippy-top,” he noted.
Snoop Dogg will be traveling to Paris in 2024 with the coverage crew, so expect to see a lot more of him. Starting on July 26, the native of LBC will present “regular reports” on the Olympic Primetime Show.
