50 Cent has filed a lawsuit against movie producer Ryan Kavanaugh to stop the release of the upcoming horror film, SkillHouse. The rapper, actor, and businessman is also asking for $5 million in damages.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, is credited as an actor and co-producer of the film, which was shot in 2022.

However, he claims he never signed a final deal with the producers. According to court documents, he and Kavanaugh only discussed basic terms, and no official contract was ever signed. In an Instagram post, he also wrote:

“I didn’t get paid I’m afraid I’m gonna need that by Monday. You already know the vibes!”

The lawsuit states that Jackson’s image and name were used in promoting the film without his permission.

He says he was never paid for his role or the use of his likeness in marketing materials. He also claims he would not have agreed to be in the movie without having a say in its creative direction.

Jackson believes he was used to bring attention to the film, even though he was not legally tied to the project. He argues that the producers promoted the movie as if he had officially joined, which he says was false.

The legal action comes shortly after Jackson publicly criticized Kavanaugh on social media. He had warned that the film could not be released without his signature, which he says the producers do not have.

He also mentioned he had not received any payment and hinted that legal steps were on the way.

Kavanaugh has not yet responded to the lawsuit. The film’s release is now uncertain as the case moves through the court.
