In the seven-year history of Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz’s Big3 basketball league, could Shaquille O’Neal be the most recent NBA legend to make an appearance?
A 3-on-3 basketball league called the Big3 Basketball League was started by entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz and entertainer Ice Cube. There are 12 teams in the league, and on their rosters, you’ll find both foreign and former NBA players.
Shaquille O’Neal and Mario Chalmers, a former Miami Heat player, had a conversation on an episode of The Big Podcast.
Shaq and Chalmers also talked about Ice Cube’s emerging Big3 Basketball League with the latter proposing that Shaq join Michael Beasley and him on the Big Three’s company team.
“So you really think I could play in the Big 3?” Shaq questioned Chalmers. In response, the podcast host and avid basketball fan said, “I gave it some thought. I haven’t played since having hip surgery. I doubt I could go back into that mindset.”
Ice Cube has responded to that Shaq clip from The Big Podcast. In an effort to get Shaquille O’Neal back on the court for the 3-on-3 match, the hip-hop icon also made the decision to personally invite him to join the league.
“Big fella, the contract is ready for you.” You can obtain Diesal within three months. You can eat all day in @thebig3 @SHAQ.”
Should Shaquille O’Neal accept Ice Cube’s offer, he will join the ranks of the most prominent former NBA players to play for the Big 3 as coaches and former NBA greats Julius Erving and Gary Payton are among the names in the league.
