Following Shannon Sharpe’s interview with Katt Williams and later Mo’Nique, Mike Epps directed a series of verbal attacks on Sharpe, eventually being described as homophobic.

Epps revealed that Sharpe, at a point, called for an interview, but he declined because he had reservations about Sharpe’s sexuality

Sharpe subsequently took to his podcast one night and expressed his opinions about the comedian. “Mention my name again, and I’m gonna put the DM … and I don’t like doing this. But you’re lying. I don’t care about all that other stuff.  You can say I’m gay … I don’t care about that. ‘Cause I won’t chase a lie. But I won’t let you lie on my name,” Sharpe said.

Sharpe went ahead to dare Epps to mention his name again if he wasn’t afraid of revealing personal messages between them. He argued that it was untrue he reached out to Epps to request an interview.

Information available suggests that Epps invited Sharpe to come see him at the All-Star game. He reportedly went ahead to refer to Sharpe’s podcast as a “black on black” crime.

Following the exchanges between them, a social media user argued that Epps was simply clamoring for attention and had nothing substantive to say.

In other news, Epps has advised musician and movie star, Ice Cube, to get to work on a new Friday film to end the drama after Katt Williams’ recent comments on the Club Shay Shay podcast.

Among other topics, he discussed the alleged pay disparity between actors who starred in the series by defending Cube, although he also aimed at some comedians in Hollywood such as Kevin Hart, Rickey Smiley, Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, and others.

During an interview on Drink Champs in 2022, Cube addressed the idea of making another film. He revealed that he was trying to team up with Warner Bros, but the company did not believe in the culture.
