Chris Brown is reportedly demanding $500 million in a lawsuit filed against the production company Warner Bros. for publishing a documentary alleging sexual assault.
The documentary titled Chris Brown: A History of Violence, is said to have aired in October last year, which supposedly delved into the rapper’s “years of alleged offstage aggression…”

Chris Brown’s legal team claims Warner Bros. and another production company, Ample Entertainment, promoted “false information” in their pursuit of likes, clicks, downloads, and dollars to the detriment” of Brown.
The suit filed at a Los Angeles Superior Court, according to sources, also indicates that the project was done despite “knowing that it was full of lies and deception and violating basic journalistic principles.”

Part of the filing quoted said: “To put it simply, this case is about the media putting their profits over the truth. They did so after being provided proof that their information was false, and their storytelling ‘Jane Doe’ had not only been discredited over and over but was a perpetrator of intimate partner violence and aggressor herself.
“Mr. Brown has never been found guilty of any sex-related crime…but this documentary states in every available fashion that he is a serial rapist and sexual abuser,” it added.

A lawyer for Chris Brown was also quoted in a statement saying, “This case is about protecting the truth.”
“Despite being provided with evidence disproving their claims, the producers of this documentary intentionally promoted false and defamatory information, knowingly disregarding their ethical obligations as journalists,” he added.
A woman named Jane Doe, had reportedly accused Chris Brown of sexual assault and spoke to some outlets recalling how the incident happened.
However, reports indicated that Jane Doe’s case against Chris Brown was dismissed by a judge in 2022 for “lack of prosecution.” It is unclear if the defendant in the Chris Brown defamation suit has made any comment.

In June last year, Chris Brown and superstar Davido released a trendy video for their joint single, Hmmm, a record on Chris’ 11:11 album. The black-and-white video is directed by Travis Colbert and is rated as a masterpiece.
Chris Brown and Davido had previously collaborated on songs like Sensational, Blow My Mind, and Shopping Spree. In March this year, the duo was adjudged the Outstanding Group or (Collaboration) for their hit single Sensational released in October 2023.
