Tennis superstar Serena Williams is not bothered by criticisms following her appearance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Responding to a recent social media post by her husband, Ohanian, she clarified that there was no time for “pettiness.”

Williams and her crip walk became topical after Kendrick Lamar brought some special guests during his well-patronized performance at the Super Bowl.
Responding to her husband’s tweet, defending her performance, Williams wrote: “That there my baby daddy and husband. Always got my back. I Love you…Gosh I’m so late to the game (I’ve been sick) & busy investing in billion-dollar companies and running @WYNbeauty… def not dancing to be petty loll.

She added: “I think I proved 23 times over (not counting four gold medals) that I simply don’t have time for petty. All love and respect always nothing negative here.”
Sportscaster, Stephen A. Smith, was one personality who criticized Serena Williams for dancing during the show.

He thought the tennis was disrespectful to her husband, Ohanian, adding that her appearance could even be a subtle jab to her ex-boyfriend, Drake.
“If I’m married and my wife is going to join trolling her ex, go back to his ass, ’cause clearly you don’t belong with me…What you worried about him for and you’re with me? Bye. Bye,” Smith stated.

He made the remarks on the February 10 episode of the ESPN First Take show, while interacting with co-hosts Shannon Sharpe, Ryan Clark, and Molly Qerim. Days later, Smith explained that his comment was a joke and should not be taken seriously.
“Please go back and look at exactly what I said. I was talking overall from a man’s perspective — highlighting what most men would think. I didn’t utter a single disrespectful word about Serena.

“No issues with folks getting upset of literal serious stuff one’s pissed about. This doesn’t qualify peeps. Come on. We were joking around on @FirstTake. Damn y’all! It’s not that serious,” The sportscaster said in a recent social media post.
Serena Williams danced during Kendrick Lamar’s performance of his Grammy-winning diss track targeted at Drake, Not Like Us. The award-winning athlete is said to have dated Drake in 2011. The relationship is believed to have inspired the rapper’s 2016 song Too Good.
