Rob Peace, a movie based on Jeff Hobbs’ 2014 New York Times bestselling novel “The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace” will be released next month.
The project is written and directed by Chiwetel Ejiofor, with Jay Will, Mary J. Blige, Camila Cabello, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Michael Kelly, and Mare Winningham playing roles in it.
According to the logline: This is the true story of a brilliant young man named Rob Peace, played by Jay Will, who is torn between his father’s shadowed past and his own promising future.
Rob is raised by his devoted mother, played by Mary J. Blige, he risks everything he has worked for to free his imprisoned father played by Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Mary Blige also executive produces with Jamin O’Brien, Morgan Earnest, Luke Rodgers, Jeff Skoll, Robert Kessel, Bruce Evans, Faye Stapleton, Ali Jazayeri and David Gendron.

Rob Peace comes to theaters via Paramount’s Republic Pictures on August 16.
