Rick Ross has reached a significant milestone with his 2019 collaboration with Drake. The song Money In The Grave has surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify, marking Ross’ first track to achieve this remarkable feat.
The announcement came from Chart Data, celebrating the track’s success that was part of the two-song release, Best In The World Pack, which Drake dropped to commemorate the Toronto Raptors’ first NBA championship.
Despite this accomplishment, Ross and Drake’s relationship is far from friendly. The two have been entangled in a public feud since earlier this year, and tensions escalated when Drake referenced Rick Ross in his lyrics.
During a recent appearance on Yung Miami’s podcast, Ross discussed the origins of their discord, emphasizing the importance of respect in their industry. His remarks hinted at a simmering rivalry that has shaped their interactions over the past months.
The feud between the two rappers intensified amidst the broader Drake-Kendrick Lamar conflict earlier this spring when Drake mentioned Ross in his diss track ‘Push Ups.’ Ross quickly retaliated with his track, ‘Champagne Moments,’ further igniting the already heated situation.
When asked about the possibility of reconciliation, Rick Ross stated that it would depend on his mood, noting that he isn’t losing sleep.
The podcast’s conversation turned to Ross’s previous role in mediating disputes between other artists, including Drake and Meek Mill. While Ross acknowledged the past, he also conveyed a sense of indifference about future resolutions, suggesting that he is focused on his path rather than the intricacies of their conflicts.
