Reshawn Toliver of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, was presented with a life-altering choice after a lucky break that brought her $90,000 from a scratch-off lottery ticket, according to Kentucky local news ABC12.

Having been unhappy at work, Toliver regarded this windfall as a chance for a new beginning and decided to quit right away.

The epiphany struck when Toliver scratched off her winning ticket at home, causing her to scream aloud throughout her home.

“I let out a cry! She recalled, “I’ve never yelled that loud before. Her son and boyfriend noticed her abrupt outburst and came running to her side.

Toliver noted the wavering feelings that followed, ranging from shock to incredulity. “After a minute, just take a breath. Stop laughing; it’s like the next minute. She said, “I can hear the scream over and over in my head.”

Motivated by her recently acquired sense of financial stability, Toliver didn’t take long to follow through on her plan to quit her job.

She traveled to the Kentucky Lottery headquarters on March 4 to pick up her reward, which came with a hefty $64,800 after taxes.

When Toliver thought back on her choice, she was thankful for what she thought was heavenly guidance.

She said, “I was unhappy with my job, and God made a way.” Toliver acknowledged that she felt guilty about quitting her job, but she was also incredibly relieved about the possibility of beginning anew.

Toliver’s winning ticket was sold at Skyline Fuel, a convenience shop, and as a result, the store will receive a $900 bonus.

Not too long ago, a San Francisco airport employee also struck luck. Durwin Hickman went into L&M Liquor in Hayward, California, during his lunch hour and bought a $30 Set For Life! Scratchers ticket. He had no idea how this spontaneous purchase would alter the course of his life.

Hickman carefully scratched the ticket’s surface until he found the word “life” in the correct place, instantly winning the top prize of $20 million. Hickman went from helping tourists with their bags to being financially secure for the remainder of his life with this fortune.

Hickman told reporters, “It was the biggest rush I have had in my life,” expressing his ecstatic reaction to his stunning victory.
