Rema: Afrobeats Superstar To Release ‘Baby (Is It a Crime)’ Single On Friday

Award-winning artist Rema has stated that on Friday, February 7, he will release his much-awaited song, Baby (Is It a Crime)—which was a sample of Sade’s Is It a Crime.

“Baby ( is it a crime )’ out Friday. + Official music video,” he posted on X with a black heart emoji.

Back in November, Rema teased the single with a one-minute, twenty-one-second video showing him smoking and casually moving to the music.

Rema, known in real life is Divine Ikubor, released his second album, Heis, through Interscope Records, Jonzing World, and Mavin Global in July.

The 11-track album included previously released songs Benin Boys, HEHEHE, and War Machine, a duet with Odumodublvck and Shallipopi. On the World Albums list of Billboard, it peaked at number seven. His first Grammy nomination for Best Worldwide Music Album was also a result of it.

“It’s a great honor. Seeing the Grammys show me this love, show me this respect, it shows that I’m doing something that is impacting way beyond my space, way beyond how I imagine it in a global scale. Being able to represent Afrobeats here, it’s amazing,” he said on the 2025 Grammys red carpet.
