Pranysqa Mishra, a phenomenal 9-year-old talent from Tampa, Florida, was first shown to America’s Got Talent viewers on July 2.
Pranysqa won the coveted Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum after her moving performance of Tina Turner‘s River Deep, Mountain High brought the spirit of Tina Turner alive in the auditorium, leaving the judges and audience utterly enthralled.
Before her audition for Season 19, Pranysqa talked about her enduring love of singing.
“I always just love singing. It makes me feel happy. Even when I was four years old, I would pretend that I have a microphone, and I would sing like I’m singing to the whole world,” she stated.
Pranysqa cited Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, and other musical icons as well as her grandmother as the primary sources of inspiration and motivation for her thriving career.
Pranysqa acknowledged that she was a little nervous, especially about performing in front of the famously severe Simon Cowell, but her confidence was evident as soon as she started singing, with a powerful voice that belied her young age.
Her incredible vocals filled the hall, leaving the judges looking at each other in awe.
“Oh my gosh, I did not expect that. We expect a lot of things, but I did not expect that,” Heidi Klum disclosed.
Klum rang the golden buzzer without hesitation, sending Pranysqa directly to the live shows.
I want you to call your grandmother and say that Heidi Klum pushed the Golden Buzzer for you,” she told the young singer.
Pranysqa was visibly shocked that she had won the golden honor as she started shedding happy tears as the golden confetti showered down upon her.
“My dream is coming true. I can’t believe it,” Pranysqa noted while reflecting on her grandmother’s prediction that she would one day perform on a big stage.
Pranysqa’s family was there on stage with her during an emotional celebration that included embraces and happy tears. Klum then assisted Pranysqa in calling her grandma to tell her of the amazing news.
