The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks, claims that she feels her rapid aging has been impacted by her 14 years of public life, but that she is now rediscovering her youthful glow and revitalizing her life.
The now 50-year-old Parks is reportedly relieved that her divorce from Apollo Nida is final. The year the reality star left the Bravo show that made her a household name, she also got divorced from her ex-husband, Apollo Nida.
After being married in 2009, Parks and Nida made their debut on Bravo in season 3 of Real Housewives of Atlanta. In 2014, Nida entered a guilty plea to charges of conspiring to steal identities and commit mail, bank, and wire fraud.
He was sentenced to eight years in jail and ordered to pay $1.9 million in restitution. Not long after Nida was back in jail in 2015, Parks filed for divorce, and in July 2017, their divorce became legally binding.
While addressing an audience at a Beverly Hills Rejuvenation opening, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star talked about her new “peace” that her divorce and the days of holding a peach on Bravo were behind her now.
She remarked, “I think your environment can age you,” elaborating on her recent radiance. “You will age faster if you are in bad marriages and dreadful shows with bad women. I was finally able to concentrate on myself and not all the bullshit once I left a horrible show, ended a horrible marriage, and had my amazing kids”.
Although her marriage to Nida didn’t work out, Phaedra disclosed that she was getting back on good terms with her ex and was beginning to date again.
She says, “I’m dating,” but then clarifies, “The thing is, I’m happy and single. I’m not one of those women who believes a man is the center of their existence.”
“That girl is me. I feel like a piece of red velvet cake. Red velvet is excellent on its own, but a man can be the frosting on the cake,” Parks added.
