Minister and author, Pastor Jamal Bryant, has disclosed why he cheated on his ex-wife, Gizelle Bryant, leading to their divorce.
The preacher now has a new wife but sounded reflective about his past relationship when he appeared on the Hardly Initiated podcast on YouTube on November 13 last year.
“I want to say I am divorced because I cheated…I’m divorced because of my infidelity, not because of ‘irreconcilable differences’ but because I broke that covenant and so I had to go through a healing process for myself, on what is it that was in me that would go outside of the bounds of my covenant my agreement. And to risk my family for somebody I never wanted to be with,” he stated.
He also noted that men cheat because they have not practiced “how to be monogamous,” and that his “mistake” was trying to stay with one partner for life.
Followers typed mixed reactions to his confession, with some suggesting that Bryant should not be referred to as a pastor.
“He just revealed why he chose to marry again, he’s still struggling in this area,” a follower wrote…No one should be calling this man a pastor, and those [projecting] him need discernment,” another added.
Jamal Bryant is reported to have married to Gizelle Bryant in 2002, with whom he has three daughters. In 2009, they got divorced due to Pastor Bryant’s infidelity.
Reports indicate they attempted to give their love another shot in 2019 but failed at it again in 2021. Pastor Bryant is now married to his second wife, Dr. Karri Turner, to whom he proposed in May 2024, after he introduced her to his congregation.
Bryant and Turner did not disclose how long they had dated before getting engaged. However, fans were stunned by the resemblance between Dr. Turner and Bryant’s ex-wife, Gizelle.
