76-year-old O.J Simpson, a former NFL star has reportedly been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Simpson, who was previously living in South Florida, is allegedly undergoing chemotherapy in Las Vegas.

Information available also suggests that Simpson has reportedly been telling family and friends that rumors reaching him imply he is in hospice care. However, on Friday, February 9, 2024, he announced that the hearsay was not true.

The former athlete was discharged from parole on December 1, 2021, after being convicted for an armed robbery incident in Las Vegas. He had previously told parole officials that he planned to move back to Florida but instead settled in a gated community in Las Vegas.

During the time spent there, he played golf and frequently shared his opinions on college and pro sports, particularly football on X, formerly Twitter.

In other news, Simpson found himself in trouble on social media after making an offensive comparison between professional football and the 9/11 attacks. This was after New York Jets quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, was severely injured during a Monday, September 11, NFL game.

It was later confirmed that he had torn his Achilles tendon and would be sidelined for the rest of the season.

Sharing his opinion on the incident on the sports show Is It What It Is, Simpson weighed in on the season-altering setback.

“The Jets are still “gonna be good”, he said. “They got that defense, and Zach Wilson learned a lot from Aaron. Unfortunately, 9/11 is just a bad day to New York.”

This did not go down well with critics who took to social media to slam him for his comments which were deemed to be insensitive.

He also faced backlash after a recent discussion about sports and politics. Simpson reportedly uploaded a video on X, voicing his support for Vivek Ramaswamy, a controversial pairing many social media users disapproved of but didn’t necessarily find surprising.
