The queen of pop music, Nicki Minaj, and the Prince of Afrobeats, Rema, Asake, have been announced as headliners at one of the biggest beach jams, Afro Nation, which goes to Portugal later in June this year.

The celebration will take place at Algarve Praia da Rocha Portimão, Portugal, from June 26 to 28, 2024, and also witness performances from other top afrobeats talents, including Omah Lay, Tyler ICU, Flavour, Diamond Platnumz, Focalistic and many others.

British rapper and singer, J Hus, known officially as Momodou Lamin Jallow, is also one of the lead acts to make the festival a memorable experience for guests.

Afro Nation is a major festival dedicated to urban music in Europe and covers music styles from afrobeats, hip hop, R&B, and dancehall.

The celebration has, over the years, attracted hundreds of patrons from different countries and serves as a melting pot of mixed cultures as guests sample food, fashion, dance, and music from different jurisdictions.

Attendees have been encouraged to check the festival guide at Algarve for tips on where to eat and party and for advice on taxis or rideshares, where to shop, and more.

Mr. Money with the Vibe, Asake, is also expected to feature prominently at the show, having entertained guests with his trendy singles Loney At The Top and Only Me.

Though all music genres will be featured at the event, Afrobeats and Amapiano will likely dominate as South Africa’s bigwigs, Tyler of Water fame, and celebrated artists from the country will all have their turn.

The inclusion of Nicki Minaj is not surprising, as she has been making waves in the past month with her all-new Pink Friday album. As always, she will give the audience a special treat with a selection of her past and present top hits.

Pink Friday is said to have gathered over 169 million streams in its first week after it premiered early in December 2023.

The festival destination, Praia Da Rocha, Portimão, a huge tourism hub, is described as a place for ‘’lovers of breathtaking views. The nightlife, stunning hotels, restaurants, villas, and historic sites are said to be worth the time and resources of travellers who will make it to the show.
