Cleveland Cavaliers guard, Donovan Mitchell has his nickname “Spidabranded on various items such as his signature shoes, socks, and hats.

The latest item to have the Donovan Mitchell Spida logo is his signature private wine, The Spida Blend.

According to information shared sourced from AfrotechTM, the starting guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers is said to be the first-ever NBA star wine apprentice as during his off-season, Donovan Mitchell was educating himself on the wine sector.

Mitchell participated in a one-day apprenticeship with The Prisoner Wine Company in St. Helena, California, on Aug 26.

The five-time NBA All-Star learned about the process of making and blending wine, pairing it with food, and branding in the company’s barrel room.

With the aid of the company’s winemaking team of Chrissy Wittmann and Todd Ricard, Mitchell made The Spida Blend.

In addition to gaining knowledge, Mitchell was drawn to The Prisoner for their advocacy efforts, specifically focusing on supporting higher education access for incarcerated individuals.

Each year, the company partners with a celebrity to create a limited-edition vintage, with a portion of the profits going to organizations that assist those who have been incarcerated or are currently dealing with the prison system, their website states.

Together, Mitchell and The Prisoner will donate $25,000 to benefit the national nonprofit Alliance for Higher Education in Prison.

“I’m not the expert… I’m trying to be around a brand—be with a brand that symbolizes exactly what I’m about.

I think the biggest thing that intrigues me is bringing attention to social injustice in the world through wine.

Donovan Mitchell said in a YouTube video that, “I think that’s just near and dear to me”
