Nas has caught eyes for the unveiling of Resorts World’s $5 billion plan for Aqueduct Park in Southeast Queens.

The company is working toward getting a license from the state of New York to begin construction on the project which if approved, the 350,000-square-foot casino would be among the biggest in the world.

Nas, who has teamed up with Resorts World to help promote the project, said in a statement:

“This is an ambitious project that will give new opportunities to the hard-working families who call Queens home, attract top-tier talent, and build up the next generation of leaders.” “With this project, the world is definitely ours.”

The rap legend alos noted, “It’s an honor to be here, to be a part of this with Resorts World, realizing the future, seeing what this can be and what it will be”.

Ever since acquiring the site and infrastructure in 2010, Resorts World has been making preparations to eventually construct a multipurpose casino -a 7,000-seat entertainment venue with the ability to hold concerts and gatherings is also planned.

The grand vision might include park space, apartments, hotels, restaurants, and renovated transportation alternatives to Manhattan and JFK Airports. It could also result in the creation of 5,000 union jobs.

The proposal, which calls for constructing a sports academy with facilities named after a former Houston Rocket star, was also supported by two-time NBA champion and current TNT basketball analyst Kenny “The Jet” Smith.

In addition to features that would increase revenue, the proposal calls for the construction of a 10-acre commuter park and accommodations for up to 3,000 employees.

Nas expressed his delight to his supporters adding that it is a great accomplishment that he can now give back to the community where he grew up.

“This is an ambitious project that will attract top-tier talent, create new opportunities for the hardworking families that live in Queens, and develop the next generation of leaders. The world is clearly ours with this project,” he wrote as the caption for his joyous Instagram video.

Although there are plans for this redevelopment, Resorts World still needs to overcome some obstacles before the expansion can be completed.

Resorts World, however, will have to bid for one of the three downstate casino licenses that are up for grabs, according to Genting, given the $500 million cost of its ambitious proposal for refurbishment.

Because it is licensed as a “race-ino,” Resorts World is only allowed to run slot and racing machines. They would need to obtain a complete license for table games before they can start working on the project, .

Their proposal to develop Caesars Palace Times Square will compete with that of SL Green Realty and Caesars Entertainment, which teamed up with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.
