Music entrepreneur, Mr Eazi, has partnered with Nigerian singer-songwriter, Tekno, officially Augustine Miles Kelechi Okechukwu.

Tekno, who owns the Cartel Music label, will be a “partner and an investor” in Mr Eazi’s record label, emPawa Africa. He was seen in a picture posted by Mr Eazi early this week.

“This deal ushers a new phase of emPawa Africa, and will see us working with different African artistes at different stages of their careers who want to maintain financial and creative freedom but even more importantly who want to own part of the company their IP is building,” wrote on his X (Twitter) handle.

The alliance is described as “a game changer for the African music industry and a beacon of opportunity for artists.”

“We look forward to seeing how this partnership will catalyze the growth of emPawa Africa, its artists, and the broader African music ecosystem,” Tekno reportedly said about the deal.

Mr. Eazi’s company has been offering marketing, distribution, publishing, label, and management services since its inception in 2018. The company has worked with African artists including Joeboy, Major League Djz, Fave, and King Promise.

It will be recalled Mr Eazi announced another business venture with the official launch of his first fully-owned sports betting brand known as Choplife.CI.

The move complemented his catalog of business interests and came a few months after he announced an investment in an artiste marketing platform called ‘Un:hurd,’ which rolls out new tools for artistes and labels.

The singer announced in February, saying he has been impressed with the services of the company hence the decision to become an investor.

His betting platform, Choplife.CI, operating in Cote d’Ivoire, also aims to offer “an innovative and accessible platform for sports betting enthusiasts while adhering to responsible gaming practices and reinvestment in African creativity and sports development.”
