Drake has celebrated his mother, Sandra Graham, with a heartfelt tribute on Mothers’ Day.
The rapper shared several photos of his mom on Instagram, along with a message praising her for the role she has played in his life and the lives of many others.
According to him, Sandra has been a guiding light not just for him, but for a group of nearly 30 young men since 2007.
He said her support and dedication helped them stay focused and build a strong bond that has turned them into responsible men and providers. He passionately wrote:
“It’s solely because of your relentless dedication that we are all here in this current day life setting. You kept 30 or so young men on the right path since 2007 and encouraged us to take care of each other which prompted us to form a new family that allowed us to become providers and bring joy and peace of mind back to the homes we all started at.”
He called his mother the kindest and most nurturing woman on earth and ended the message by sending love to her on behalf of all his friends, referring to himself as ‘Sandra’s Rose’.
This isn’t the first time Drake has paid public tribute to his mom. In 2023, during a show in New York, he performed ‘Look What You’ve Done’ while sitting next to her on stage. The song, from his 2011 album Take Care, is about the sacrifices she made for him. The performance ended with a hug, and his mom was seen getting emotional as the crowd cheered.
Drake also has a tattoo of his mother’s initials, ‘SG’, under his left eye. The tattoo was done by Los Angeles artist NAL in 2022.
Drake shared a photo of the ink on Instagram with a short caption that included her name and a heart emoji.
In addition to the tribute tattoos for his mother, Drake also has a portrait of his father, Dennis Graham, on his arm. That tattoo was done in 2014.
