The gangland drama “Moses The Black,” which stars Omar Epps, Wiz Khalifa, Quavo, and Chukwudi Iwuji, has Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and his G-Unit Film and Television as executive producers.
The film tells the tale of a gangster in modern-day Chicago and is based on the tale of the same-named saint’s redemption in the fifth century.
Rapper Wiz Khalifa will portray 2wo-3ree, the self-assured and erratic head of Malik’s youthful group, while Epps will portray Malik, the Chicago gang leader and main character.
This is the Grammy-nominated rapper’s second film role, and his first in a leading role.
Malik’s worst enemy, Straw, is portrayed by Quavo, and Iwuji portrays St. Moses the Black, the title figure.
Yelena Popovic is the writer and director of Moses the Black, which is produced by Simeon Faith’s Popovic and Alexandros Potter.
Epps, through his production company BrooklynWorks Films, and Khalifa, through his Taylor Gang Films, will serve as executive producers.
But according to reports, Simeon Faith is funding the movie with the Nick Mirkopoulos Cinematic Fund, supported by the previous owners of Cinespace Film Studios, the Chicago Pissios family, and the Toronto Mirkopoulos family, who are also executive producers of the movie.
For this deal, the agencies representing the actors are as follows: Epps is represented by IAG, Untitled Entertainment, and Hansen, Jacobson.
Khalifa is represented by Taylor Gang Films and Pryor Cashman while Quavo is represented by UTA and Artist Collective Entertainment.
Chukwudi Iwuji is represented by WME, Conway van Gelder Grant, Authentic Talent, and Literary, and Granderson Des Rochers, and 50 Cent is represented by IAG, AKR Public Relations, and Attorney Stephen J. Savva.
