Metro Boomin has achieved a remarkable feat in the rap industry, surpassing 50 Cent on Spotify’s list of most streamed rap albums ever.

The prolific producer’s 2022 album Heroes & Villains, which features collaborations with Drake, Future, Young Thug, Travis Scott, and more, has amassed over 4.3 billion streams on the platform, edging out 50 Cent’s landmark debut Get Rich or Die Tryin’.

Metro Boomin’s success on Spotify

According to Chart Masters, a website that tracks and analyzes music data, Heroes & Villains has accumulated 4,379,300,317 streams, while Get Rich or Die Tryin’ has 4,367,041,925 streams. This puts Metro at number 34 on the list, while 50 Cent drops to number 35.

Metro Boomin is not far from overtaking another rap legend on the list: Dr. Dre. The West Coast icon’s 1999 album 2001, which spawned hits like Still D.R.E., The Next Episode, and Forgot About Dre, is currently at number 33 with 4,399,463,268 streams. Metro could surpass Dre in the near future if he maintains his streaming momentum.

Metro Boomin has proven himself to be one of the most influential and successful producers in the rap game, crafting hits for some of the biggest names in the genre. His album Heroes & Villains showcases his versatility and creativity, blending trap, R&B, pop, and soul elements. The album spawned singles like Too Many Nights with Drake, No Complaints with Offset and Drake, and Space Cadet with Gunna.

Metro Boomin has also faced stiff competition on the list, as he has surpassed albums by Drake and Kanye West, two of the most dominant forces in rap. Drake’s 2013 album Nothing Was the Same is 36 with 4,353,057,823 streams, while Kanye’s 2010 masterpiece My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is 37 with 4,341,798,456 streams.

Metro Boomin to release 3 albums in 2024

The hitmaker, who is behind some of the biggest songs by artists such as Drake, Future, Travis Scott, and 21 Savage, revealed his ambitious plan on X (Twitter).

Metro Boomin, whose real name is Leland Tyler Wayne, tweeted: “2023 was great but just watch what I do 2024!!!!!,” which sparked curiosity among his fans. One of them asked him: “How many albums we getting this year?” Metro Boomin replied: “3 at the very least.”
