Megan Thee Stallion has been granted a five-year restraining order against Tory Lanez, who is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting her in the feet in July 2020.

The court order, issued on Thursday, January 9, bars Lanez from harassing, intimidating, or threatening the Houston rapper until at least January 9, 2030. He must also maintain a distance of at least 100 yards from her.

The decision was made during a court hearing in Los Angeles, where Megan testified via Zoom about the ongoing emotional toll she has endured since the incident. She described how harassment, allegedly orchestrated by Lanez even from behind bars, has disrupted her peace and left her battling severe anxiety.

Megan claimed that Lanez had paid third-party bloggers to spread falsehoods about her, aiming to discredit her credibility in the case. Evidence presented included payments allegedly made by Lanez’s father to a blogger accused of sharing harmful content and cyberstalking the rapper.

The harassment has reportedly taken a heavy toll on Megan’s personal life. She expressed struggles with social interactions, citing fear of public perception due to the smear campaign against her. The rapper also revealed that she fears for her safety, believing Lanez might continue his threatening behavior upon release.

Judge Richard Bloom cited undeniable evidence, including the original shooting incident, in granting the restraining order. Despite Lanez’s conviction in 2022, Megan argued that his actions, even while incarcerated, have perpetuated her trauma.

Lanez’s lawyer opposed the ruling, claiming it infringes on his client’s freedom of speech and is unnecessary since Lanez is in prison. However, the court stood firm, emphasizing the need to protect Megan from further harm.
