Lil Durk has been in the news following his 10-year-old son, Jerome Harris Jr, being accused of shooting his stepfather, Joshua Pippens, during a domestic altercation captured on video.

The incident on July 1 has drawn significant attention, especially after Pippens shared footage and details on social media.

Pippens, known on Instagram as reezy_dgaf, posted a video showing the altercation that led to the shooting. He claimed that he was not the aggressor in the situation, asserting that Jerome took his gun from his hip and shot him under his mother’s influence. Pippens wrote that he wanted the video to raise awareness before it could be taken down.

Following the incident, Pippens posted a photo of an official document indicating that Jerome Harris Jr. was questioned by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Office. The document detailed the boy’s account, where he stated he witnessed his mother, identified as Ms. Collier, and Pippens arguing outside Pippens’ home. Jerome mentioned that he tried to intervene by pushing his stepfather.

According to the report, Jerome eventually admitted to picking up a gun that Pippens dropped during the argument and shooting him to protect his mother. This revelation has added another layer of complexity to the already distressing situation.

Lil Durk yet to comment

As of now, Lil Durk who is set to visit Africa has not publicly commented on the incident. The rapper’s son stands accused of a serious act, and the family is likely grappling with the legal and emotional ramifications.

In the aftermath of the incident, Pippens has shared more details and his perspective on social media. He expressed disbelief that a child he had cared for could commit such an act. Pippens revealed his hope that the All My Life rapper would take custody of Jerome to remove him from the influence of his mother, Ms. Collier. He emphasized his desire to prioritize the children’s safety and well-being amidst this chaotic situation.
