LeBron James Yet To Decide On His Future With LA Lakers

Top NBA star, LeBron James, is yet to decide his future with the LA Lakers, as the game goes on a long break.

He spoke to some outlets after his team lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, April 30. Asked if he would return to the team, he stated:

“I don’t have an answer to that…Something I’ll sit down with my family, my wife, and my support group, and kind of just talk through it and see what happens.”

“…And just have a conversation with myself on how long I want to continue to play. I don’t know the answer to that right now, to be honest. So we’ll see.”

Early this year, LeBron James played on the same pitch together with his son Bronny and described the collaboration as an accomplishment.

“When it comes to the titles, that’s one separate thing…But to be able to play in this league and also being able to do it alongside Bronny right now, that’s one of the biggest accomplishments and probably the No. 1 accomplishment I’ve ever been able to do,” he stated on the New Heights podcast on Wednesday, January 15.

Lebron and his oldest child made headlines in October 2024 when they were hailed for being the first father-son duo to play together in the NBA.

The 40-year-old believes playing with his son made him restore the years he was away during Bronny’s childhood.

“To work with your son — I’ve heard it from a lot of people and, not only [in] sports, but I’ve heard it in business and [other] walks of life, and they say it’s the greatest thing you could ever have.”

“…It helps me get some of the minutes and hours and years back that I did not have with him because I was playing so much and, on the road, and doing my own thing, and traveling,” he added.

LeBron James also praised Bronny for being “the most chill, easy, fun kid in the world.” He was again impressed with his son’s decision to still play basketball despite suffering a cardiac arrest in July 2023, during a basketball workout at the University of Southern California.

The historic moment of LeBron and Bronny James playing together occurred during the Los Angeles Lakers’ season-opening victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in October 2024.
