Las Mujeres Ta No Lloran (Women No Longer Cry) the 2024 album by Shakira has exceeded four billion streams on Spotify. The project is said to be her first album to attain this milestone.
The 16-track compilation, which arrived Friday, March 22, 2024, was a follow-up to her 2017 project album known as El Dorado and featured seven previous singles.
Speaking about the album, at the time, Sharika said the recording was an appreciation to all her loyal fans worldwide.
“My new album is one I created together with all of you, my pack of ‘Shewolves’ (the name of her fanbase) who were there for me every step of the way.
“Making this body of work has been an alchemical process. While writing each song I was rebuilding myself. While singing them, my tears transformed into diamonds, and my vulnerability into strength,” she wrote on X (Twitter).
Music enthusiasts welcomed the new project before Shakira and made a surprise appearance at the Coachella Music Festival which took place 12-14 April at the Empire Polo Club.
She mounted the stage during a performance by Argentine DJ, Bizarrap, at the Sahara stage on April 12, where they both turned up the show with their lively act. At the concert, Shakira took the opportunity to announce her ‘La Mujeres Ya No Lloran’ World Tour.
She said part one of the North America tour which will begin November 2, 2024, “is the only chance to experience the show more intimately.” Other international dates for the tour were being planned at the time of the announcement.
On Mother’s Day in May this year, the superstar shared an adorable picture of herself and her two sons and added a heartwarming message for women across the world.
Praising women having their children and those without any, she said her children, Milan and Sasha, “nourish and complete” her life, as she thanked mothers who cared and “fought” for their wards.
