Lamar Odom has wondered if Liam Payne had been hallucinating before his fatal fall from a hotel balcony as he reflects on his personal experience with drugs reportedly found in the singer’s system.
The retired NBA player was hospitalized in 2015 after overdosing in a Las Vegas brothel but has since been sober for several years and now owns recovery clinics.
Lamar Odom is however reflecting on his own experiences with street drugs in the wake of Liam Payne’s toxicology report, telling TMZ the substances could have made the late singer hear voices.
He went on to say that he thought he had used pink cocaine before, saying, “I’ve done a lot of things. I’m not ashamed, though, because it’s my testimony.”
ABC News reported an unspecified bottle of alcohol and a makeshift aluminum pipe were also recovered from the hotel room where he was staying.
The report by the outlet also stated that crack and “pink cocaine,” ecstasy, and others, were found in Payne’s system following a partial toxicology report.
The drug is locally referred to as “tusi” or “tuci” and is believed to have originated in Colombia before becoming popular on the club scene.
Liam’s friend claimed he had been targeted by dealers who allegedly delivered drugs to his hotel room after he had been clean for weeks and claimed that the singer had previously been in rehab in both the UK and California.
The singer’s friends also claim he had recently been taken on by a new psychiatrist in Florida, and those around him had hoped he was on the road to recovery.
Payne traveled to Argentina to renew his USA visa, where he had to undergo a medical examination because of his history with alcohol and drugs.
The results of the tests were good. Liam was 100 percent sober but when he checked in at the hotel, at some point someone there started giving him drugs.
