On Thursday, January 25, 2024, a judge ruled that Tasha K’s tell-it-all interview with Kevin Hart’s former assistant won’t be removed from the blogger’s website.
The judge noted that it is nothing more than a vague, over broad request that fails to address actual malice.
Donte Mills, who is Hart’s lawyer, responded to the verdict by saying that things said by people in the interview were illegal, defamatory, extortive, and showed malice on their part.
Previous reports show that Kevin Hart sued the controversial YouTuber towards the end of December 2023, for extortion after she allegedly threatened to release an interview with his former assistant who made some wild allegations about the comedian.
According to The Blast, what was stated in the ‘cease’ letter that was sent to Tasha K back in November before the interview was released briefly read, “You have already engaged in criminal conduct and tortious acts that would entitle Mr. Hart to monetary damages against you should he elect to commence civil litigation regarding this matter. To the extent that you do not cease and desist now, your liability for such monetary damages will increase, as will your exposure to criminal penalties.”
Mills was allegedly informed by Tasha K’s team that the interview would not be released if the Ride Along actor paid $250,000. The documents claim the act falls under Penal Code Section 518, and that it gives “rise to both criminal and civil liability against you and anyone involved in your efforts to extort Mr. Hart”.
Hart’s team reported Tasha K’s action to the police and said that the interview with Mr. Hart’s former assistant, Miesha Shakes, included scandalous assertions against him.
The complaint also showed that Tasha’s team also posted a teaser with Ms. Shakes on YouTube which was intended as a threat that the more detailed story would not be published if the ransom is paid.
