Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna have reportedly turned down requests to headline the 2025 Coachella Music Festival. Both musicians are said to be focusing on other personal interests.

Observers say organizers of Coachella would have, by now, announced lead artists for the show but are unable to do so because these two musicians have not responded.

Kendrick Lamar is said to have turned down the request because he was preparing for his upcoming Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show. Rihanna is also lethargic about the request, as she does not see the need to attend the show.

In September, the Not Like Us composer urged his fans to turn up in their numbers for the Super Bowl Halftime Show next year after the National Football League (NFL) announced him as the headliner.

Coachella 2024, headlined by Tyler, The Creator, and Doja Cat, witnessed performances from artistes and groups including No Doubt, Blur, Ice Spice, J Balvin, and Jhené Aiko.

However, festival organizers were fined $28,000 in April for not ending the show in time.

According to reports, Coachella missed the “curfew time” on three nights. Observers said on Friday, the show ran over by 25 minutes and again exceeded its limit by 22 minutes on Saturday, while on Sunday, it finished just before 12:30 am.

The damages were attributed to artiste, Lana Del Rey, who reportedly performed a bit longer on stage than her allotted time.

The singer was said to have performed 13 minutes more than her specified time when she mounted the state on Friday, April 19, 2024, prompting a California city representative to trigger the fine due to the “missed cut-off point.”
