New Ho King is still jumping after Kendrick Lamar mentioned the Toronto Restaurant in his diss track towards Drake titled Euphoria.
According to a new report by @billboard, a food blogger who goes by the name of @insta.noodls pulled up to the restaurant last week to order the “Kendrick Lamar Special” and tried out the fried rice and the dip sauce that Lamar rapped about on the song.
In the song, Kendrick named dropped the Chinese spot which is on Spadina Avenue in Toronto. “I be at New Ho King eatin’ fried rice with a dip sauce and a blammy,” he rapped in the song.
After the song was released it didn’t take long for the restaurant to gain a lot of attention. Since the song, New Ho King has received a bunch of new five-star reviews on Google that are showing love to Kendrick Lamar.
A local news station in Toronto went down to the restaurant to speak with the owner about all the attention his store has been receiving and shared how thankful he is for all the recognition.
Also, people who do not live in the area were interviewed with the City News outlet and explained that they drove to the restaurant just to taste the fried after Kendrick mentioned that’s what he eats when he goes there.
Kendrick spat several bars aimed at Drake in Euphoria.
If you remember, this rap beef began once again when Kendrick Lamar hopped on Future and Metro Boomin’s project and was featured on the song Like That where he dissed Drake and J.Cole for calling themselves the Big 3 in the industry.
Throughout all of the bars on the song, fans noticed that Kendrick Lamar accused Drake of sending a cease and desist letter for that song.
In the song, Kendrick can be heard rapping: “Try cease and desist on the “Like That” record… H*e, what? You ain’t like that record? “Back To Back”, I like that record, I’ma get back to that for the record.”
Since both rappers released multiple diss songs towards each other the dust has seemed to settle a little bit.
Drake and Kendrick, both have seemingly acknowledged that the beef is over.
