Kendrick Lamar and SZA have tied a nearly 30-year-old Billboard record with their hit song ‘Luther’, which remains No. 1 on the Hot 100 for an 11th consecutive week.

The song now matches the 1997 hit ‘I’ll Be Missing You’ by Diddy and Faith Evans, featuring 112, for the most weeks at No. 1 by a duet between a male and female solo artist. ‘Luther’ is now the longest-running No. 1 single for both Kendrick and SZA.

Although the song came out in November 2024, it continues to receive strong radio play. While streaming numbers are slowly dropping, ‘Luther’ remains one of the most played tracks across the U.S.

The song, which samples the late R&B icon Luther Vandross, has been a major success for the two artists. It marks Kendrick’s sixth career No. 1 on the Hot 100 and SZA’s third. Both now hold their longest stay at the top of the chart.

In addition to this chart success, Kendrick also made history on tour. Last month, he and SZA began their Grand National Tour in Minneapolis.

The opening show grossed over $9.1 million, setting a new record for the highest-grossing rap concert ever. It breaks Eminem’s 2019 record set in Melbourne, Australia.

According to Touring Data, over 47,000 fans attended the Minneapolis show, with tickets averaging nearly $193.

This was the first rap concert to pass the $9 million mark and also became the most attended concert for both Kendrick and SZA outside of festivals.

‘Luther’ now stands among the most successful duets in Hot 100 history. The only duet to spend more time at No. 1 is ‘One Sweet Day’ by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men, which held the top spot for 16 weeks in 1995 and 1996.

This week’s chart also saw Alex Warren’s ‘Ordinary’ move up to No. 2, while Doechii’s ‘Anxiety’ returned to the top 10, climbing back to No. 10.
