After being charged with many violent acts, Kay Flock has been found guilty. In the trial, where prosecutors said the 21-year-old rapper was the leader of the Bronx Sev Side gang, a jury returned “mostly—but not all—guilty verdicts.”
“Kevin Perez is not the main target of this lawsuit. It’s not in favor of Kay Flock. “It’s drill rap versus the US,” the defense asserted.

Kevin Perez, the artist’s legal name, was convicted of conspiracy to commit racketeering, attempted murder and assault with a dangerous weapon in connection with racketeering, and attempted murder and assault with a dangerous weapon. He was found not guilty of murder in connection with racketeering.

On July 16, Perez will be sentenced to a mandatory life sentence. The platform pointed out that one video, “Who Really Bugging,” stood out as proof of the rapper’s introduction of both words and graphics. A real-life shooting was purportedly referenced in the film, which was utilized throughout the trial.
As the commander of the local street gang Sev Side/DOA, Kevin Perez, also known as “Kay Flock,” carried out a slew of gang-motivated shootings with the group. Drill rapper Perez terrorized the neighborhood with his violent acts, then used his rap songs to mock victims, threaten rivals, and boast about shootings, acting U.S. Attorney Matthew Podolsky said in a statement after the guilty judgment.

“But as a unanimous jury has now found, Perez can no longer hide behind his music and instead will be held to account for his violent crimes. Thanks to the hard work of the career prosecutors of this Office and our law enforcement partners, the cycle of violence that Perez engaged in is over. This Office remains resolute in its commitment to prosecuting gang members who sow fear and spread violence on our city streets.”

In February 2023, federal murder and racketeering accusations were initially brought against the Bronx native. For “attempted murder and assault with a dangerous weapon arising from seven shootings committed in the Bronx between June 2020 and February 2022,” authorities charged Perez and other suspected gang members.
