Celebrated singer-songwriter, Katy Perry, has announced her return to music with a brand new single titled Woman’s World.
The song will be available next month, July 11, 2024, and its music video will also premiere the following day. The Roar hitmaker released a cover art of the single posing in a white bikini with long robotic boots on her legs.
Woman’s World is said to be the lead single of her upcoming album, which she began teasing months ago. In December last year, the award-winning performer said she was preparing her “most personal” project yet in 2024.
“If you can’t love me in my Witness or Smile era, then you can’t love me in my KP6 era,” she told an audience while performing during her Las Vegas residency last year.
Smile was Katy Perry’s sixth studio album released in August 2020, which she described as her “journey towards the light, with stories of resilience, hope, and love”.
The album received mixed reviews from music critics, who thought the album was one of Perry’s “solid efforts” but criticized its “familiar lyrics and production.”
Commercially, Smile reached the top five in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and the top 10 in Austria, Ireland, and Italy.
Katy Perry is rated as one of the best-selling musicians of all time. She is believed to have sold over 143 million records worldwide with her major studio albums individually exceeding one billion streams on Spotify.
She has nine U.S. number-one singles, three U.S. number-one albums, and the second-most U.S. diamond-certified singles for any female artist.
Her achievements include a Billboard Spotlight Award, four Guinness World Records, five Billboard Music Awards, five American Music Awards, a Brit Award, and a Juno Award.
She is ranked by Forbes Magazine as the world’s highest-paid female musician in 2015 and 2018 and as one of the wealthiest musicians with an estimated net worth of $350 million.
