Katy Perry has reached a new milestone in her music career, as she has surpassed 60 million monthly listeners on Spotify for the first time ever.

The pop star, who has been in the industry for over a decade, achieved this feat on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, according to Spotify’s official charts. She is currently the 12th most-streamed artist on the platform, and the fourth most-streamed female artist, behind Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and Dua Lipa.

Perry’s impressive streaming numbers are largely driven by her recent hits, such as “Harleys in Hawaii”, “Never Really Over”, and “Smile”, which are all part of her sixth studio album, Smile, released in August 2020. The album, which received positive reviews from critics and fans, debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 chart, and spawned four top-40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Perry has also been active in other ventures, such as her role as a judge on American Idol, her collaboration with Pokemon for its 25th anniversary, and her advocacy for various causes, such as mental health, LGBTQ+ rights, and environmentalism. She also welcomed her first child, a daughter named Daisy Dove, with her fiance Orlando Bloom in August 2020.

Perry’s fans, who call themselves KatyCats, celebrated her achievement on social media. They also praised her for her longevity, versatility, and influence in the music industry.

Perry has not yet announced any plans for her next album, but she has hinted that she might explore new genres and sounds in the future. She has also expressed her desire to collaborate with artists such as Rihanna, Bruno Mars, and Billie Eilish.

Perry, who has won five American Music Awards, four Guinness World Records, and a Brit Award, among other accolades, is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with over 200 million records sold worldwide. She is also one of the most-followed celebrities on social media, with over 100 million followers on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
