A highly anticipated interview between rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and British broadcaster Piers Morgan ended abruptly on Tuesday, May 6, when Ye walked off just minutes into the conversation.

The contentious exchange, aired on Morgan’s YouTube show Piers Morgan Uncensored, reignited tensions between the two, who have clashed publicly before.

The interview, conducted remotely from Mallorca, Spain, where Ye was joined by streamer Sneako, began with Morgan addressing the rapper as “Ye West,” prompting an immediate correction from Ye about dropping his “slave name.”

Tensions escalated when Morgan commented on the contrast between Ye’s serene backdrop—a balcony overlooking the ocean—and his recent tumultuous public image, marked by controversial rants on X about the music industry, his strained relationships, and other topics.

“I already disagree,” Ye interjected, cutting Morgan off. “It’s not in contrast. There’s so many people and artists championing the idea of expressing who they really are, having to go through the war of being attacked by the banks, and to still be here with this view—that’s the win.” The comment about “the banks” echoed Ye’s past antisemitic remarks, though Morgan did not press further on the topic.

The breaking point came when Morgan mistakenly cited Ye’s X follower count as 32 million, rather than the correct 33.3 million. Ye erupted, saying, “You’re not gonna take inches off my d**k, bro,” before launching into a rant about media disrespect. “I’m a gift, bro. Why do all you people in media act like you haven’t played my songs at your weddings or graduations or funerals or when your child was born?” he said, comparing himself to John Lennon and Michael Jackson.

Morgan, visibly taken aback, attempted to respond, but Ye concluded, “Now you’re not taking accountability or responsibility. This is what you get for now, we can circle back when you can count.”

He then removed his mic and stormed off, leaving Sneako to continue the interview. The entire exchange lasted less than four minutes.

Morgan later took to social media, calling Ye a “sniveling little coward” and “big baby,” accusing him of avoiding tough questions about his antisemitic comments and pro-Hitler sentiments.

“We’ll circle back when he is ready to answer questions about why he loves Hitler and hates Jews,” Morgan tweeted, also criticizing Sneako for defending Ye despite his controversial stances.

This is not the first time Ye has walked out on Morgan. In 2022, a similar incident occurred during a TalkTV interview, though Ye eventually returned to continue the discussion.

This time, however, Ye did not come back, leaving the interview in chaos. The fallout has sparked divided reactions online, with some praising Morgan for challenging Ye, while others criticized both for their handling of the situation.
