Rapper Kanye West turned political hopeful will not be taking part of the US’ general elections in 2024.

The controversial rapper has reportedly decided not to run in the 2024 US general elections. According to his personal attorney, Bruce Marks, Ye will not be making a second attempt at the presidency.

In a statement to Rolling Stone, Marks revealed this change of heart, stating:

“He’s not a candidate for office in 2024.”

Kanye West’s presidential ambition

This decision marks a shift in Kanye’s political ambitions. Back in 2020, he declared his intent to run for the presidency.

He was notably late to enter the race, and his campaign faced a series of challenges, including meeting ballot access requirements in several states.

Kanye’s decision not to run in 2024 will come as a relief to some, as his previous campaign was considered by many to be unconventional and faced criticism from some political quarters.

The announcement has sparked various reactions on social media, with some expressing disappointment while others welcome the news.

Kanye West’s influence

Kanye, who now prefers to go by ‘Ye,’ has remained a prominent figure in the music industry, but his foray into politics has been met with mixed reactions.

During his 2020 campaign, he spoke about various issues, including his vision for America and his unconventional policy proposals.

His campaign was also marked by a series of Twitter outbursts and public appearances that garnered significant attention.

Rick Ross wants to sign Kanye

Meanwhile, Rick Ross, known in real life as William Leonard Roberts II, shared a clip on his Instagram Story last week of how he would like to sign Kanye West to his Maybach Music Group (MMG) label.

“I just had an amazing idea, a boss idea. This is something that’s extremely realistic to me. We’ve created amazing masterpieces in the past. The boss, Ricky Rozay, I’m interested in signing Kanye West,” the Miami star said in a clip on his Instagram Stories. “Maybach Music. Ye, what’s up? Talk to me. Let’s make history, baby.”

In the past, Ricky and Kanye West have teamed up to create massive hits including My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
