Renowned rapper and music producer Kanye West has once again found himself amid controversy following his recent interview on Big Boy TV.
The interview, featuring Ty Dolla $ign, saw the rapper making bold claims about his influence on the music industry over the past two decades
West asserted himself as the creative force behind every music style that emerged during this period. He said he created the genre that artists like Weeknd, Travis Scott, Drake, Future, and Young Thug belong to. He attributed this to his auto-tune album, 808s, which he believes laid the foundation for their music.
However, his claims were disagreed by many viewers who took to social media to voice their opinions. Among them was rapper Boosie Badazz, who strongly refuted West’s claim of having influenced his music. He stated emphatically that Kanye’s music bears no resemblance to his own and that it does not resonate with people in the projects or the trenches.
In response to Boosie’s comments, Kanye West took to his Instagram Story to share a cryptic message. He pointed out that Boosie’s hit song Wipe Me Down was released in 2007, implying that it was created before his influential 808s album. He then disclaimed any responsibility for the genre of music that Wipe Me Down would fall under.
Kanye West slams Adidas, Drake, and others
Meanwhile, Kanye West recently slammed perceived enemies, including Adidas and everyone associated with the brand.
He also expressed his disdain for someone he encountered at the Ritz and everyone at the Daily Mail.
Earlier, he leaked an alleged internal document from Adidas that he says is a conspiracy against him.
Kanye West shared a photo of a memo that was supposedly sent out to Adidas employees. It instructed them on handling media inquiries about the ongoing legal dispute.
